How Can I fix my Pentax ZX-30 shutter ???
I purchased a used Pentax ZX-30 camera that seamed to be in perfect condition, however, the shutter only opens half way, all the pictures are only half exposed, the bottom half of all of the pictures are black. I can take the lens off and see that the shutter is only opening half way.
Can this be fixed for a reasonable fee or is this something that I can fix at home ???
Is the camera worth fixing ???
I only paid $50.00 for the Camera, LowePro bag, two Quantry lenses, 28-80, and 70-300. The lenses work great with my Pentax K10D, & K1000.
You will have to find a good repair store and have them look at your "new" camera.
This sounds more like a flash sync problem ... if half the film is being exposed properly, then the shutter is working properly, or you would see images either over or under exposed.
It may well be that the mirror is not opening all the way and it is blocking the "bottom" half of the negative (the image is upside-down when it reaches the film ... you can see this if you have ever looked through a view camera)
